Today/Tonight has been spent mocking up an exhibition which I am currently project managing whilst also designing work to go into the launch event. The exhibition is in association with the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital, Birmingham. Next week we will be unveiling a new piece of permanent artwork at the hospital and this exhibition is a spin off of our creative findings whilst working on the project. Featuring will be myself, James Gill (artist), Keith Meredith (Photographer) and Emma Quirk (Designer). More to follow from the unveiling, book handover and the exhibition in June.

My new A6, A5 and A4 hand screen printed notebooks and sketchbooks. Printed with my traditional DC branding. Now all I need to do is put some work inside them!

New workspace now set up, thank you IKEA.

Today has been spent in the screen printing, where I have been doing some prints of a typographic poster I designed last week. Ive never done any proper screen printing before so this was a good opportunity to learn something new which could help me with future projects. Next week I will be branding my notebooks and sketchbooks using this method so I’ll post a few pictures up when there done.

This week we had Fedrigoni come into BIAD to talk to us about how high end paper stock combined with print can really improve the overall finish of work. We were shown lots of samples, which used a variety of stock and print production methods which did look pretty cool. Here’s a few images I took of some of the ones I liked, there were lots more but I would have had to upload 50+ photographs!
